The best way to capture the sightseeing highlights of Italy's Amalfi Coast is to come on-board with us and spend a relaxing morning or afternoon cruising along its rocky outcrops, exploring the grottos and breathing in the sea views.
Your half-day AMALFI to POSITANO boat excursion begins when your captain welcomes you onto our traditional Italian 'gozzo' motor-boat , hand-crafted to our specifications three years ago. AMALFI, an ancient Marine Republic, was once a stronghold of power and commerce in Italy's rich maritime history. The remains of that period are now dotted along the Amalfi Coast with abandoned Saracen forts casting their shadows across the sea and ruined villas receiving new life as five-star retreats.
From AMALFI, your English-speaking captain will cruise beside the tiny fishing village of ATRANI, the cascading MARMORATA FALLS at RAVELLO and tour onwards to MINORI and MAIORI, which are terraced by hundreds of lemon groves and vineyards. Your captain will also point out the clifftop towns of SCALA, famous for producing gorgeous ricotta and RAVELLO - the village of music, the arts and cool mountain breezes.
It is in MAIORI where you will discover PANDORA'S GROTTO, a wave-carved cave we can navigate inside of with our motor-boat. After vising the grotto, it is time to visit SANTA CROCE beach, famous for its LOVER'S ARCH. Local legend dictates if a kiss is stolen underneath this natural rock arch your love is sealed forever. You will also see the luxurious villa of Italian and Neapolitan screen siren, Sophia Loren in CONCA DEI MARINI and it is behind the breath-taking CAPO DI CONCA promontory where you will discover a gem of the Amalfi Coast - the EMERALD GROTTO or, known locally as, LA GROTTA DELLO SMERALDO.
To view the grotto, you will disembark our motor boat onto a small pier to enter the cave, step into a small row-boat and participate in a mini-tour. Your AMALFI COAST to POSITANO boat trip will continue to the FURORE FJORD, a deep inlet where the International Diving Championships are held annually. The beauty of the twin-mountain town of PRAIANO is next so have your camera ready for its pastel-coloured villas and bright floral displays, which sit snugly against the rock-hewn terrain. PRAIANO's majestic Church of San Gennaro marks the centre of town, while several exclusive beach clubs, including LA GAVITELLA, can be spied at the base of the cliffs.
POSITANO is now in sight and a town of contrasts with its painters and unique fashion sitting easily alongside mega yachts and wooden fishing boats. It is in POSITANO where you will disembark for two hours and sightsee around the town at your own leisure. Once back on board our motor-boat, your captain will then cruise back along the coast to AMALFI - this really is living La Dolce Vita.
Our Amalfi to Positano Cruise departs twice a day...
